Program Schedule:
  • Arrival Day, Sunday: Volunteers arrive at Jodhpur Airport and will be transferred to their accommodation in the heart of Jodhpur. An evening orientation will include an introduction to Jodhpur’s vibrant culture, local traditions, and an overview of volunteer activities.
  • Day 1, Monday: Volunteers will get a cultural introduction to Jodhpur by visiting some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, and the bustling Sardar Market. Volunteers will also learn about the unique “blue houses” of Jodhpur, which make it famous across the globe.
  • Days 2-3, Tuesday & Wednesday: Volunteers will engage in preservation activities related to Jodhpur’s heritage sites. Tasks may include helping with the maintenance and restoration of Mehrangarh Fort, participating in the preservation of ancient artwork, or assisting in the upkeep of local temples and palaces. They will also help promote local crafts such as tie-dye, block printing, and traditional woodwork.
  • Day 4, Thursday: Focus will shift to community development. Volunteers will engage in educational outreach, assisting local schools, teaching English, and promoting health and hygiene programs. Volunteers may also participate in skill-building workshops aimed at empowering women in rural areas or assist in vocational training programs.
  • Day 5, Friday: Volunteers will take part in sustainable tourism and eco-friendly initiatives in Jodhpur, promoting the city’s natural and cultural heritage through responsible tourism. They will engage in waste management programs, water conservation efforts, and help spread awareness about environmental conservation among tourists and locals.
  • Days 6-7, Saturday & Sunday: Weekends are free for volunteers to explore Jodhpur and the surrounding areas:
    • Mehrangarh Fort: A guided tour of Mehrangarh, one of India’s largest and most majestic forts, with an incredible view of the “Blue City.”
    • Mandore Gardens: Visit the historic gardens and temples in Mandore, located on the outskirts of Jodhpur, showcasing intricate architecture and stunning gardens.
    • Shopping at Sardar Market: Explore the vibrant Sardar Market in the Old City, known for its spice bazaars, handicrafts, and colorful textiles.
    • Explore Rural Villages: Weekend trips to nearby villages where volunteers can engage with local communities and experience traditional rural life in Rajasthan.
