Program Schedule
- Arrival Day (Sunday): Arrival at Bagdogra Airport and transfer to Gangtok. Evening orientation introduces participants to Sikkim’s rich history, cultural diversity, and project overview.
- Day 1 (Monday): Guided tour of Gangtok’s key cultural sites, including Rumtek Monastery and MG Marg, followed by project orientation.
- Days 2-3 (Tuesday & Wednesday):
- Community Outreach: Assist in local schools with education programs, organize health and hygiene workshops, and support youth through extracurricular activities.
- Organic Farming Support: Work alongside farmers to promote Sikkim’s organic agriculture initiatives, including sustainable farming practices and local produce marketing.
- Day 4 (Thursday):
- Eco-tourism Development: Collaborate on projects to develop eco-friendly tourism practices, focusing on waste management, trail conservation, and community-based tourism initiatives.
- Cultural Exchange: Participate in workshops showcasing Sikkimese art, traditional dance, Thangka painting, and handicrafts. Volunteers also interact with local families to learn about their daily lives.
- Day 5 (Friday):
- Community Outreach Continued: Work on infrastructure projects such as rainwater harvesting systems, sanitation improvements, or healthcare facility support in rural areas.
- Environmental Education: Conduct awareness programs in schools and communities on the importance of biodiversity, climate action, and sustainable living.
- Days 6-7 (Weekend): Free to explore Gangtok and surrounding areas, with optional activities like trekking, monastery visits, or adventure sports.

- Transfers: Airport pick-up and transport to accommodation, plus local transport for projects.
- Support: 24/7 emergency assistance, program coordinator, and local guides.

Volunteer Age Requirements
- Minimum age: 18 years (16-17 with parental consent). Families with children 12+ are welcome.
Weekend Add-On Activities
- Trekking in Kanchenjunga National Park or Dzongu Valley.
- Visits to iconic monasteries such as Rumtek and Tashiding.
- Exploration of Tsomgo Lake and Nathula Pass.
- Participation in cultural festivals and local food tours.
