Program Schedule

Arrival Day (Sunday):

  • Arrival at Srinagar International Airport and transfer to accommodation.
  • Evening orientation on the historical, cultural, and environmental significance of Jammu & Kashmir, along with an overview of the program.

Day 1 (Monday):

  • Guided tour of Srinagar, including Dal Lake houseboats, Mughal Gardens, and the historic Old City.
  • Project orientation to understand program goals and activities.

Days 2-3 (Tuesday & Wednesday):

  • Community Outreach: Support local schools through literacy drives, arts education, and health awareness workshops.
  • Cultural Preservation: Assist in promoting traditional Kashmiri crafts by working with local artisans to document and market their work.

Day 4 (Thursday):

  • Eco-Tourism Development: Collaborate on projects to develop eco-friendly tourism practices, such as creating sustainable trekking routes and promoting responsible travel.
  • Environmental Conservation: Participate in clean-up drives around Dal Lake and nearby areas to raise awareness about preserving Kashmir’s natural resources.

Day 5 (Friday):

  • Community Infrastructure Support: Work on projects like installing water filtration systems or building energy-efficient stoves in rural households.
  • Cultural Exchange: Engage in traditional Kashmiri music and dance workshops, or learn to cook local delicacies like Rogan Josh and Kahwa tea.

Days 6-7 (Weekend):

  • Free to explore Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonmarg or enjoy activities like trekking, gondola rides, or Shikara boat tours. Optional wellness retreats are also available.

Volunteer Age Requirements
  • Minimum age: 18 years (16-17 with parental consent). Families with children 12+ are welcome.
Weekend Add-On Activities
  • Trekking in the picturesque valleys of Pahalgam and Gulmarg.
  • Gondola rides and skiing at Gulmarg (seasonal).
  • Visits to Shankaracharya Temple, Nishat Bagh, and Shalimar Bagh.
  • Traditional Shikara rides on Dal Lake or Wular Lake.
