Program Schedule:
- Arrival Day, Sunday: Volunteers arrive at Madurai International Airport and will be transferred to their accommodation in the city. A welcome orientation in the evening will introduce the city’s cultural history and outline the volunteer activities.
- Day 1, Monday: Volunteers will receive a cultural briefing and take a guided tour of the Meenakshi Amman Temple, one of the most significant temples in India. This tour includes a detailed understanding of the temple’s architecture, its significance, and ongoing preservation efforts.
- Days 2-3, Tuesday & Wednesday: Volunteers will participate in hands-on conservation activities related to the Meenakshi Amman Temple, assisting in the upkeep of the temple’s frescoes, sculptures, and sacred spaces. Volunteers may also help with temple administration, assisting in facilitating rituals or organizing community programs.
- Day 4, Thursday: Focus on community outreach, particularly in areas of women’s empowerment, education, and health. Volunteers will assist in local schools, providing educational support, and work with NGOs focused on improving access to healthcare, sanitation, and employment training for women and marginalized groups.
- Day 5, Friday: Volunteers will engage in sustainable tourism initiatives, helping promote responsible travel in Madurai through eco-friendly practices and awareness campaigns. - Days 6-7, Saturday & Sunday: Weekends are free for volunteers to explore the cultural heart of Madurai:

- Puthu Mandapam and Market Visit: Explore Madurai’s vibrant markets, filled with local handicrafts, textiles, and spices.
