Embark on a four-week adventure through various districts and terrains of Nepal and give back to the community of Kathmandu! This project includes sightseeing, five days of trekking, white water rafting, introductory language and cultural activities as well as five days of volunteering with the local community.
Program Highlights:
Week 1: Participants will spend the first week of their journey in the capital city of Kathmandu, familiarizing themselves with Nepali culture and getting to know their fellow volunteers. During this first week they will be able to explore Kathmandu, learn Nepalese and about Nepali culture. You will take a visit to one of the most important Buddhist sites, the temple of Boudhanath, as well as participate in yoga and meditation classes. You will have your first weekend free to spend as you wish.
Week 2: Participants will be hiking through a village near to rice fields and wondrous mountains. For three days and two nights, participants will be exploring Chitwan National Park, which is home to unique animal species including the Bengal tiger. Participants will then spend time in Nepal’s second largest city, Pokhara, where they will be taken on more sightseeing tours. The weekend is free.
Week 3: Participants will spend five days trekking up Poon Hill, and have the weekend free.
Week 4: During the last week of this program, you will be staying and volunteering in the capital city of Kathmandu. You will have the option of teaching in local schools, taking part in renovation projects and working on an organic farm.

During this volunteer and adventure program, participants will become familiar with the exciting terrain of Nepal. This adventure takes volunteers through four main regions: from the capital city of Kathmandu to Royal Chitwan National Park and to Pokhara for the trek to Poon Hill. Volunteers will see the diversity of the Nepalese landscape, from metropolitan cities to the Trisuli River to mountainous regions. Participants will visit local villages, various temples and other historically significant sites, trek up the mountains and experience all that Nepal has to offer.
Volunteer work will take place in the city of Kathmandu from Monday to Friday during the fourth week of this program. Volunteers will have the option to choose between three different volunteering opportunities. These include teaching in local schools, taking part in renovation projects and working on an organic farm.

Accommodations:
Volunteers will be staying in shared hotel rooms, in guest houses and in tents by a river. There will be 2-6 volunteers per shared room. Hot showers may be available at certain hotels, but are not guaranteed. Sleeping bags are not provided during the five-day trek and it is; therefore, advised that volunteers bring their own.
Food:
Three meals per day during the week and two per day on weekends are provided. Dishes will be traditional Nepali; both chicken and vegetarian options will be available.

- Participants should be in good physical shape (able to hike and trek for 5 days)
