This exciting project combines six days of volunteering at an ecological reserve in the incredibly diverse Amazon rainforest with guided tours around the southern section of Peru! Join this perfect balance of tourism and conservation work in a magnificent part of the world.
Program Highlights:
Day 1, Friday: Arrive at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ). Volunteers will be picked up by the local team and staying overnight in ancient Cuzco.
Day 2, Saturday: Free day to explore Cuzco before taking an overnight bus to Puerto Maldonado.
Days 3-9, Sunday-Saturday: Volunteer work at the ecological reserve, combined with a tour of Lake Sandoval. The evening of Day 9 will be spent on return overnight bus to Cuzco.
Day 10, Sunday: Free day.
Day 11, Monday: Volunteers will visit the national park Maras and Moray and take a tour of the park on four wheelers.
Day 12, Tuesday: City tour of Cuzco.
Day 13, Wednesday: Transfer to Sacred Valley and tour of the Valley of the Incas. This evening volunteers will take a trainride to Aguas Calientes where they will stay in a hotel.
Day 14, Thursday: Volunteers will be visiting Machu Picchu for the day and returning to Cuzco in the evening.
Day 15, Friday: Volunteers will be dropped off at the airport for departure.

This project takes place in various locations throughout the enchanting country of Peru. Peru is located on the northeastern part of South America and shares borders with five other countries and the Pacific Ocean. The country is known for the historical site of Machu Picchu and its Incan history.
Peru is made up of three main geographic regions: the highlands of the Andes Mountains, the coast and the Amazon Jungle region. Destinations you’ll visit during this volunteering and touring project include the ancient city of Cuzco, Sacred Valley, the national park of Maras and Moray, and the ruins of pre-Colombian Machu Picchu.

In addition to exploring the best that Peru as to offer, participants in this program will be spending six days volunteering for the conservation of the Amazon rainforest. As a volunteer on this project you will be participating in various tasks at an ecological reserve under the supervision of leading nature experts and biologists.

Volunteers will be placed in a variety of shared, single-gender accommodations with up to four volunteers and private bathrooms.

Breakfasts generally consist of juice, milk, fruits and breads. Vegetarian diets can be accommodated with prior notice.
