The goal of this project is to provide affordable and accessible English classes to local Peruvian children. In many cases, the standard of English teaching is quite poor and does not afford students the opportunity to attain real proficiency in the language.
This English program is run at the Primary and Secondary schools, based in Cajamarca. Volunteers are needed to help the program grow and progress, as the goal over the next 10 years is for all high school graduates to speak and understand basic English. Volunteers will be actively involved in encouraging and inspiring their learners, ensuring they are confident and articulate.
Program Highlights:
Your Schedule at a Glance (Minimum One-Week Commitment):
Day 1, Sunday: Arrive at Mayor General FAP Armando Revoredo Iglesias Airport (CJA). You will be picked up from the airport and taken to settle in to your accommodations in the Andes city of Cajamarca.
Day 2, Monday: Volunteers will receive an introduction to the local team, their program, partake in a Peruvian culture lesson, a Spanish language lesson and tour around the local area. Volunteers will hike to White Crosses Hill, where they can enjoy thermal baths and a massage for an additional fee.
Days 3-6, Tuesday- Friday: Rewarding volunteer work at the primary or secondary school.
Days 7-8, Saturday and Sunday: Volunteers staying only one week will depart on Saturday. The weekend is free for volunteers to spend how they wish.

Peru, known for its incredible cultural heritage sites, such as the renowned Machu Picchu, is the third largest country in South America. Peru is geographically diverse, with a variety of landscapes, climates, and ecosystems. This makes it possible to go surfing at its northern beaches one day, and hiking in its vast mountains the next.
This project is located in Los Baños del Inca, a quiet location near the northern Andes city of Cajamarca, known for its natural thermal springs, breathtaking mountain views and relaxing atmosphere. The location provides the best of both worlds with its proximity to both natural wonders such as the Andes Mountains and Amazon Rainforest, and the bustling commercial center of Cajamarca. There is also a rich Incan history to explore, as the city is known for the Battle of Cajamarca, where the Inca Empire fell.
